Who is eligible for the awards? Farm and stable staff employed in the United States and who are legal residents can be nominated for awards 1-4 inclusively. For awards three and four, one must have been employed in the U.S. for 10 years. Individuals not necessarily employed as farm or stable staff or by the horse racing industry CAN be nominated for award 5. For the Newcomer Award, you must have been employed in the Thoroughbred business no longer than five years as of May 8, 2017.
Who can nominate?
Nominations for the Awards can be made by, but are not limited to, trainers, owners, breeders, stable staff, farm, staff, office personnel and office administrators.

Nominations open on May 8th and will close at 5:00 p.m. on August 1st.

Who decides the winners?
The process for determining finalists is two-fold: first, a short list panel of judges will determine three finalists in all categories; second, a final judging panel will conduct in-person interviews to complete the overall selection process in the week preceding the awards ceremony.

Godolphin is the name shared by Sheikh Mohammed’s worldwide racing and breeding operation. Sheikh Mohammed is the ruler of Dubai and the Vice President of the UAE.
What is Godolphin’s involvement?
Godolphin currently sponsors the “Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards” in England, Ireland and Australia and is the primary benefactor of the awards.

The National HBPA, TOBA and The Jockey Club are key players in the education, administration and facilitation of the awards.
